Knit Beanie Pattern


I have nothing to say about this hat except that I really liked how it turned out. I'm new to writing patterns so please let me know if this doesn't make sense. I try to be accurate but I'm not perfect! Not to mention always in a rush!

Chunky Yarn (in 3 colors) - I used Lion Brand Hometown USA 
9mm circular needle (16")
Double pointed needles (DPN)
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Stitch marker

mcb - main color (brown)
ccb - contrasting color blue
ccw - contrasting color white

co - cast on
k1 - knit 1
p1 - purl 1
m1 - make one (knit wise)
k2tog - knit 2 together


Starting with mcb, co 38 stitches (loosely), add stitch marker and join round.
Round 1-5 - k1, p1, Repeat all the way around (until desired width of brim is achieved)
Round 6 - k1 all the way around including a m1 (anywhere on this round)
Round 7 - *k1 with mcb, k1 with ccb, Repeat from * all the way around
Round 8 - *k1 with ccb, k1 with mcb (alternate so the brown is on top of blue, blue is on top of brown), Repeat from * all the way around
Round 9 - k1 with ccb all the way around
Round 10 - *k1 with ccb, k1 with ccw , Repeat from * all the way around
Round 11 - *k1 with ccw, k1 with ccb, Repeat from * all the way around
Round 12 - k1 with ccw all the way around
Round 13 - *k1 with ccw, k1 with ccb, Repeat from * all the way around
Round 14 - *k1 with ccb, k1 with ccw, Repeat from * all the way around
Round 15 - k1 with ccb all the way around
Round 16 - *k1 with ccb, k1 with mcb, Repeat from * all the way around
Round 17 - *k1 with mcb, k1 with ccb, Repeat from * all the way around
Round 18 - k1 all the way around including with mc
Round 19 (decrease round) k4, k2tog, Repeat all the way around
Round 20 - k1 all the way around 

Switch to DPN (if needed)

Round 21 - k3, k2tog, Repeat all the way around
Round 22 - k2, k2tog, Repeat all the way around
Round 23 - k1, k2tog

Repeat until you decide you want to close up.

Add pom pom using ccw
